The Denver Broncos have signed former Arizona Cardinals defensive end Zach Allen to a three-year, $45.75 million contract, according to a league source.

Allen, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Cardinals who has started 29 games in three seasons. He had 48 tackles and five sacks in 15 games with the Cardinals last season.

The Broncos are hoping Allen can help improve their pass rush, which was one of the worst in the NFL last season. The Broncos had just 25 sacks last season, which was tied for the third-fewest in the league.

Allen is a versatile player who can play both defensive end and outside linebacker. He is also a good run defender, which is something the Broncos need to improve on.

The Broncos are excited to add Allen to their defense. They believe he can be a key piece to their turnaround in 2023.
